The Brief

Two cinemas.
One immersive tour.

The VUE Cinema, after dazzling refurbishments in Edinburgh and Angel Central, needed captivating footage to promote their newly transformed cinemas to audiences before summer.

They envisioned immersive, cinematic experiences showcasing the interiors — but traditional production methods felt inadequate for what they had in mind. Enter: FPV drone tours.

We were called upon by DUCK Productions to deliver fly-throughs of both the Edinburgh Omnicenter and the VUE Islington locations.

The Challenge

Signal, clearance
and complexity.

Our challenge wasn't singular — two distinct fly-throughs, each with unique architectural layouts and significant signal interference demands.

• Securing flight licences, insurance documents, risk assessments and method statements for busy city centre locations
• Angel Central presented two floors, multiple screens and an outdoor takeoff — threatening signal disruption throughout
• Edinburgh's layout required navigating the full width of the redesigned auditorium in a single seamless take

Our solution at Angel Central: a single-take masterpiece, pushing signal limits and seamlessly transitioning to a second shot — creating the illusion of one continuous journey through the entire space.
