CAA and EASA certified commercial drone pilot with over 500 hours of commercial flight time. Specialist in FPV drone videography, indoor cinewhoop tours and cinematic production for brands, agencies and venues across the UK and Europe, including the Netherlands.
The Netherlands is a country built on precision. The architecture is deliberate, the urban planning is considered, and the creative industry centred on Amsterdam and Utrecht operates at a consistently high production standard. In 2026, static aerial footage has become visual background noise in this market. Audiences have seen the overhead shot. They have seen the slow cinematic pan. What they have not seen is the inside of your venue, the energy of your space, or the kinetic reality of your product captured from a perspective that places them inside the experience.
At AerialJohnny, we operate across the UK and Europe with full EASA certification, and the Netherlands is one of our most active European markets. We provide FPV drone videography and indoor cinewhoop tours for leisure venues, retail brands, agencies, developers and production companies across Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam, The Hague and the wider Randstad. Every project is piloted by Johnathan Badenhorst, a CAA and EASA certified commercial drone pilot with over 500 hours of commercial flight time and experience working with UEFA, Everton FC, Silverstone Circuit and Adidas.
Dutch airspace, particularly within the Schiphol CTR and the densely developed Randstad urban corridor, is among the most tightly regulated in Europe. We manage all ILT coordination, SORA risk assessments and DGAC notifications in-house. You do not need to understand the regulatory framework. We do.
For trampoline parks, activeplay centres, gyms, leisure destinations and large-scale indoor venues, the fundamental challenge is always the same: communicating scale without losing energy. A photograph can show the size of a space. A conventional walkthrough video can document the layout. Neither of them can convey what it actually feels like to be inside your venue when it is full, when the atmosphere is alive, when everything is operating exactly as it should.
Our cinewhoop operations specialise in the One-Take shot. Our custom-built, ducted-propeller drones are designed to fly at low altitude through the tightest architectural gaps, past active staff and customers, through corridors and over equipment, without stopping, without cutting, and without requiring the venue to close for filming. The result is a single continuous piece of footage that functions as a digital walkthrough: it delivers the feeling of your space before a visitor has set foot inside it.
For Dutch leisure operators competing for bookings in a market where consumers research extensively before committing, this type of content converts at a measurably higher rate than photography or conventionally edited video. The decision to book is made on atmosphere and anticipation. FPV drone content is what creates that anticipation.
The two films above are representative of the format. A venue tour that would take a conventional production crew a full day to plan, shoot and edit across multiple setups is delivered in a single continuous take. The viewer is transported through the space at the pace the drone moves. There is no opportunity to look away, and no editorial moment where the illusion of being inside the environment breaks.
High-energy indoor spaces where scale and activity need to be communicated simultaneously. FPV threads through the equipment at speed, capturing the experience from within rather than documenting it from above.
Gyms, pools, sports halls and mixed-use leisure facilities. A single FPV tour can cover the full facility in under two minutes, delivering content that works across website, social and digital advertising channels.
From flagship retail environments in Amsterdam to hospitality venues across the Randstad, indoor FPV produces venue showcase content that outperforms conventional photography in engagement and conversion.
Static aerials have become white noise. The Dutch market needs content that puts viewers inside the experience.AerialJohnny - FPV Drone Services Netherlands
Amsterdam and Utrecht are among the leading creative hubs in Europe. The agencies operating out of these cities work on briefs that require production partners who can integrate seamlessly into a complex shoot and deliver without requiring management on set. We provide the technical capability to support the most ambitious storyboards, and we arrive knowing our role within a larger production rather than needing to define it on the day.
Whether the brief requires a high-speed automotive chase through the Zuidas, a fluid architectural reveal across a Rotterdam development, or an immersive indoor tour of a commercial space in the centre of Amsterdam, we bring the appropriate hardware for the frame.
Built for indoor precision in high-stakes environments. Ducted propellers, safe around people, capable of flying through gaps that no other camera system can navigate.
For high-speed outdoor tracking, proximity shots and the kind of acrobatic sequences that define the most compelling commercial content being produced in Europe right now.
When the project demands the dynamic range of a RED or BMPCC 6K. Full-sized cinema cameras carried at FPV speed, for productions where there is no compromise on image quality.
Ready for professional colour grading. All drone footage delivered in a format that integrates directly into a high-end edit without requiring conversion or remediation.
A selection of recent productions demonstrating the range of environments, briefs and formats we work across. From leisure and entertainment venues to commercial office spaces, the format adapts to the brief.
Operating a drone commercially in the Netherlands is not simply a matter of finding a clear sky and an interesting subject. Dutch airspace, particularly within the Schiphol CTR, the Rotterdam-The Hague Airport zone and across the densely developed Randstad urban corridor, is among the most regulated flying environments in Europe. The ILT (Inspectie Leefomgeving en Transport) enforces EASA regulations with a thoroughness that rewards properly prepared operators and creates significant problems for those who arrive without the correct authorisations.
We manage the regulatory complexity entirely in-house. Before any project in the Netherlands begins, we conduct a full airspace assessment, prepare the appropriate SORA (Specific Operations Risk Assessment) documentation, coordinate with the ILT where required, and produce all RAMS documentation relevant to the operational environment. On indoor shoots, participant waivers and site-specific risk assessments are produced as standard. You receive all of this in your pre-shoot pack without being asked.
01
We hold EASA Specific Category authorisation for commercial operations across EU member states. This is the certification tier required for the type of commercial FPV and indoor drone work we deliver. Not all operators hold it. We do.
02
All SORA risk assessments, ILT notifications and airspace coordination are handled in-house. For projects in controlled airspace near Schiphol or within the Randstad urban zones, we manage the authorisation process entirely, including liaison with air traffic management where required.
03
We carry 10 million GBP public liability insurance on every commercial flight in the Netherlands. Insurance certificates, RAMS documentation and pilot qualification records are provided in your pre-shoot pack as standard. Nothing needs to be chased or requested.
For Dutch agencies and brands that work with multiple production partners, the compliance documentation we provide eliminates the administrative back-and-forth that delays projects and frustrates producers. We arrive prepared because we have done the regulatory work in advance. That is not an optional extra. It is how we operate on every project.
The Netherlands is a hub of innovation. Your content should not be the exception. Whether you are a marketing lead at a leisure brand or a producer at a Tier-1 agency, tell us about your project and we will respond within 24 hours.
