We're CAA registered FPV and aerial drone specialists working with brands, venues, agencies and developers in and around Manchester. From one continuous indoor fly-through to high-speed FPV, event coverage and traditional aerial video, it is one crew handling planning, filming and the edit. Tell us about your Manchester project and we will come back swiftly with a clear quote.
Most indoor drone enquiries start with the same problem: a venue wants to show its scale, energy and flow, and a gallery of stills never quite gets there. A single continuous FPV pass does, moving from the entrance through the space the way a visitor actually experiences it.
The work happens before the drone leaves the ground. We survey the space, agree the route with your team, and choreograph every movement so the flight reads as effortless on screen while staying tightly controlled in the room. Guarded FPV drones let us fly close to people, fixtures and fittings, so a gym, office or event space keeps operating around us rather than closing for the day.
A one-take indoor FPV fly-through, filmed with a full choreographed sequence.
Whether you need a fully choreographed journey or a looser flight that captures the atmosphere of the space, we plan around your operation. A venue doesn’t need to close for an FPV shoot; with the right preparation, we work around your schedule, not the other way round.
Ready to show your venue from a new angle? Book a consultation and we’ll map out the best FPV approach for your space, including flight planning, choreography and production requirements.
Get in touchFPV gives production teams a level of movement a gimbal, slider or traditional drone can’t match. It flows through tight spaces, around obstacles and between areas of activity in one continuous take, without the footprint or reset time of a larger rig.
On agency-led shoots around MediaCity and the wider creative district, it’s usually the answer when the brief calls for a single hero sequence, a perspective that feels impossible with conventional kit, or a faster setup that doesn’t compromise the idea.

The question Manchester agencies ask most is whether FPV can be flown indoors safely with people present. It can, and it’s usually the reason a client calls us rather than filming it another way. For more on how indoor and outdoor FPV differ in planning terms, see our FPV drone videography services page.
Get in touchA property can look impressive in photographs and still leave buyers unsure how the space actually works. FPV removes that gap by creating a continuous journey through the property, showing how rooms connect, how light moves through the space and how the layout feels in reality.
Combined with traditional aerial footage, it gives developers and agents a complete view: from the building’s position in the wider Manchester landscape to the experience of moving through it.
A continuous FPV real estate tour, from exterior context to interior walkthrough.
Worth flagging early: not every property suits FPV. Very small units or heavily partitioned spaces sometimes work better with stills and a traditional aerial alone, and that’s something we’ll say on the site survey rather than push a format that won’t add value to the listing.
Get in touchThe strongest aerial footage isn’t always the fastest or most dynamic. Sometimes the brief calls for slower, more considered shots that build atmosphere, reveal scale and give viewers a true sense of the location. Paired with the right composition, aerial footage adds impact while keeping the focus on the building or development and its surroundings.
Most larger commercial shoots combine the two: a traditional aerial pass for the establishing shots, and FPV for the sequences that need to move through a space. Deciding that split is usually part of the initial call, not something worked out on the shoot day itself.
An event can look impressive from the ground, but its scale is often only revealed from above. Aerial filming captures the full picture: the crowd, the production, the atmosphere and the moments that make an event memorable. The challenge is being ready when those moments happen, with every flight planned around the event rather than the other way around.
From large-scale venues such as Manchester Central Convention Complex to activations across the city centre and Salford Quays, aerial event coverage needs careful planning long before the drone takes off. Flight paths are agreed with the relevant teams in advance and designed around the event schedule, guest movement and venue operations.
Live event filming is planned around your schedule, letting us capture the scale, atmosphere and key moments without interrupting the experience. From venue setup and crowd arrivals to the main event itself, we work alongside organisers so the right shots are captured at the right time.
Agency and production shoots move quickly, with tight schedules and multiple moving parts. Around MediaCity and the wider creative district, we work alongside creative teams, producers and directors to fit aerial filming into the wider production, aligning with the call sheet, location requirements and creative objectives.
The result is specialist drone footage delivered smoothly within the production process, without adding unnecessary complexity.
For higher-end briefs we run cinelifter rigs carrying RED or Blackmagic cameras, which matters when the aerial footage needs to intercut directly with ground footage shot on the same camera system.
Most of the friction on set comes from a crew not knowing what a drone unit actually needs, so we handle that conversation before the shoot day. If post-production is also part of the brief, our video editing and post-production team can take the footage straight through to a finished cut.
Get in touchMotorsport and automotive briefs usually need two different things from the same shoot: a tracking shot that follows a vehicle at speed, and a wider shot that establishes the track or the vehicle’s design. FPV covers the first; a traditional drone pass usually covers the second, and deciding the balance between them is part of the pre-shoot planning rather than something worked out on the day.
We work closely with drivers, teams and production crews to plan every pass around timing and track safety before a single flight happens.
Every movement is planned in advance - a chase through a specific corner, a tracking run in a karting final, a hero reveal for a launch - because there’s no room to improvise a flight path around a moving vehicle.
We integrate directly into existing camera teams, working to the same call sheet as directors and DOPs rather than operating as a separate unit on the day. For most motorsport clients, the FPV and traditional elements are booked as a single production day rather than two separate shoots, which is more efficient and keeps the whole edit consistent.
Aerial stills are usually booked alongside video rather than on their own, because the same flight that captures a fly-through can also produce a set of high-resolution frames without a second visit. The exception is press and editorial work, where a single strong still is often the actual deliverable.
We shoot this across the city centre, Salford Quays waterfront schemes and event spaces around Manchester, usually as part of a wider video shoot rather than a standalone booking.
Every shoot includes RAW files alongside a set of edited selects, so design and press teams have what they need without asking for a second pass.
Stills are usually captured in the same visit as FPV or aerial video. If the brief also needs ground-level photography to round out the set, our photography and ground filming team covers that too.
We work across Manchester’s main production, commercial and event locations, including:
Where we work
We regularly support production teams, agencies, venues and developers across these areas, bringing drone and FPV filming directly to site. Whether it is a studio build in MediaCity, a branded activation in the city centre or a live event in Salford Quays, we work on location with minimal disruption and fast turnaround.
Indoor FPV filming is self-contained, meaning location has no impact on the shoot itself. For outdoor work, all travel is confirmed clearly in advance as part of the quote.
We also provide drone services in London for multi-city productions, with wider UK coverage available on request.

When you book AerialJohnny, the compliance is handled before we arrive, so the paperwork your venue or insurer asks for is ready to go.
We are experienced operating in controlled airspace and tight city-centre environments across Manchester. Every flight is pre-planned, approved where needed, and coordinated with the relevant authorities so complex locations can be handled safely and without delays on shoot day.
Perfect experience working with Aerial Johnny and we already can't wait to film with them again. Speedy and clear communication from first enquiry right through to the completion of the job and the work itself was top notch.
Great company, professional, flexible and they produce amazing content!
An extremely talented videographer who operates at an exceptionally high and professional standard. Would highly recommend.
Yes, all our pilots hold the relevant licences to operate safely across Manchester, including in controlled areas. We're a CAA-registered operator with an A2 Certificate of Competency and the GVC, and carry £10 million of public liability cover through the specialist aviation insurer Moonrock. Every job comes with its own site-specific RAMS, and waiver forms where the public are present.
Booking is simple: tell us the space, what the footage is for and your deadline, and we'll come back with a clear quote and available dates. We can often offer same-week slots, and travel from London is always factored into the quote up front.
We offer FPV drone filming, indoor drone fly-throughs, motorsport, event coverage, traditional aerial videography, drone photography, film and commercial production support, and property and real estate tours. We also handle video editing, so you receive finished, ready-to-publish content rather than just raw footage.
Turnaround is fast, and we can provide same-day rough cuts when a launch or deadline demands it. Exact timing depends on the edit, but RAW footage is delivered alongside the edited versions, so your own team has everything to work with too.
Yes, indoor drone work is our speciality. Our caged FPV drones fly safely around people and fixtures, so a gym, office, venue or trampoline park doesn't need to close. We've filmed indoor fly-throughs at Fairfax and Oxygen Activeplay at MediaCity in Manchester with members present throughout.
